Yoga, Death, and the Dying Process

Learn how yoga philosophy provides insight into the dying process along with specific, accessible techniques for supporting others through their own or a loved one's final transition. Move through pre-recorded videos at your own pace, develop a care plan for your target clients, and meet one-on-one with the course instructor to discuss specific adaptations and needs for your practice.

Your instructor, Laura Atmadarshan Santoro, worked on intensive care units at University Hospitals of Cleveland and has supported family members through the dying process. She has presented on yoga and death to international audiences and is honored to share this much-needed wisdom with you.

Course details: 4 hours of on-demand videos + 1 hour personal session with your instructor. Once registered, you have three months to complete your choice of options:

  • For personal learning and growth: watch the videos as often as you like and, if you wish, schedule a 1 hour personal session with your instructor to discuss any aspect of the program or your own journey with death and dying.

  • For 5 Yoga Alliance CEs: watch the on-demand videos and schedule a 1 hour personal session with your instructor to discuss any aspect of the program or your own journey with death and dying. Optional online quiz and practice logs are available to enhance your understanding. 

  • For 5 hours of APD for the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT): watch the on-demand videos, schedule a 1 hour personal session with your instructor, and submit three assessments (online quiz to consolidate theoretical knowledge, log of your experience of presented techniques, and a theoretical case study of a target client/population).

Yoga for Grief & Mourning

Discover how the chakra model of yoga philosophy provides a step-by-step method for working with grief. Each of 6 pre-recorded videos provides a wealth of both theoretical and practical information for processing grief in an empowering way.

Your instructor, Laura Atmadarshan Santoro, worked on intensive care units at University Hospitals of Cleveland and supported loved ones through their ultimate passage. She has used these yogic approaches and tools to navigate her own sense of loss, and hopes to provide relief and comfort to others by sharing them.

Course details: 9 hours of on-demand videos (6 x 1.5 hour recordings, currently released weekly) + 1 hour personal session with your instructor. Once registered, you will have three months to complete your choice of options:
