In light of the growing conflicts in the world, our 5th annual Month of Metta will be offered through the HeartMath Institute’s Global Coherence™ Initiative (GCI). Cathy has been participating in this work for the past several years and is an Add Heart Facilitator.
From their website: “The Global Coherence™ Initiative is a science-based, co-creative project to unite people in heart-focused love and intention, to facilitate the shift in global consciousness from instability and discord to compassionate care, cooperation and increasing peace.”
To participate, you will need to download the free Global Coherence App to your phone. Your phone’s camera will serve as the sensor to monitor heart rate variability (HRV) and coherence during your meditation practices. When we meditate using the App, GCI is collecting data, measured as “# coherence points contributed to the global field while helping to raise the vibration of our planet.” The recommended starting point is 200-300 points per individual practice which can easily be reached during short practices once you are familiar with the App.
When you register for Month of Metta, you will receive the access code to join our private group in the App as well as scheduled times and link for optional live group meditations on Zoom (30 minutes). These live practices will include the loving kindness blessings to begin and end our GCI practice. As in prior years, however, the intention is to practice at a time that fits your schedule. There is audio and on-screen instruction available to follow within the App. As you practice, you will be able to see your accumulated coherence points as well as those of our group.
There are several other public groups on the App as well. These are interesting to explore, and Cathy has found that they’ve enriched her practice.
You can learn more about the Global Coherence™ Initiative here. If you are called to support this work, donations may be made directly in the App. HeartMath Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and 100% of donations go directly to their programs and projects, in this case to GCI.
Registration: Month of Metta.
