It’s the time of year many of us associate with going back to school. But we may default to the idea that this is something children or young people do, while older adults cheer them on.
Here’s something you may not know: learning new things at any age is said to help our mood, brain function, and even overall health. Fortunately, yoga has a wide variety of aspects to explore. Of course, there is the physical movement, with which you may already feel familiar. But learning different ways to adapt a pose, or trying the pose at different times of the day or varying levels of intensity, the gives you the same benefits as attempting something completely different. Plus, there are countless meditations, topics, and sister sciences (Ayurveda, yoga psychology, energetic healing) to explore.
So do your health a favor and consider trying yoga - or a different aspect of yoga - for the first time. You’ll be amazed at how good “going back to school” can feel!
